Project details
- Client: NSW Dept of Financial & Services
Fourth storey extension to accommodate new infectious disease ward, isolation rooms (which were required to be negative-pressure rooms), treatment and administration areas.
This was a highly complex project which required a new sprung metal roof, extension of lift shafts (whilst keeping the lifts fully operational), relocation of services (including boilers, mechanical plant and medical gasses) and relocation of the helipad.
The extension was carried out whilst the hospital was fully operational with the Intensive Care Unit directly underneath the works and Emergency and Cardiac Wards on the ground floor.
