Value: $6.5 Million
Client: Sydney Trains
The project involved the installation of access platforms, civil works; ground based warning systems, and sewer pumping stations, at the Macdonaldtown Stabling Yard within the rail corridor and working within a dangerous zone.
The platforms provide safe access for staff and contractors who access Sydney Train’s 1,500 carriages a night in various stabling yards. The new platforms are integral in providing the required maintenance activities for mechanical works, graffiti removal and cleaning tasks and included the provision of services (water, drainage and power) sewer and sewerage pump out stations.
The works included non–destructive excavation, mechanical excavation using high rail equipment, concrete footing and slab on ground works and ground based warning system and signalling extensions.
