Expansion of the existing operating theatre department to include a new operating theatre room and associated areas, refurbishment and expansion of the existing Ward 8 to a 24-bed Aged Care and Surgical ward, and repairs and making good of Ward 7 walls and ceilings. This included the demolition of the Maternity Ward ceiling to install plumbing etc for the floor above.

All new works were to be integrated into the hospital’s existing services which included a Building Management System with controlled air handling units, mechanical pressurisation and filtration of theatre rooms.

This project was constructed on the top floor of an existing building with the Maternity, Cardiac and Orthopaedic wards remaining in operation on the floors below. All existing hospital operations were to be maintained during erection of structures and at fit out stage.
